This is a large power bank, but it holds enough power to charge my phone completely twice! I was shocked at it's capacity for that much storage. However, I was hoping that the solar panels would be more effective beacuse it is slower than I thought it would be. I placed it on my window all day and it charged my phone about 20 percent. If you use a wire, it would take about 2 hours to completely charge it again. The flashlight is VERY bright, so it would be great for anyone who is camping. If you're planning this for everyday use, be aware that it is a little heavy and takes up a lot of space. Overall, this is a very effective power bank and has its issues that could be overlooked

I was able to charge my phone and use as a flash light during a recent thunderstorm. This battery bank is very good and hold A good charge. I found out that solar panel charging feature takes a little too long to charge up but it’s a good option to have if you are hiking in the outdoors without any power source.

There’s a battery indicator on the side with a push of the button, and also has a built-in flashlight for emergency usage.

This battery would be perfect for the great outdoors or a back up system in case the power grid goes down.

I would highly recommend it if you were traveling a lot, or doing some sort of hiking or great outdoor activity. It will also be a great unit to have just in case a power outage.

The only downside is the bulkiness of the unit itself, but other than that everything seem to be pretty good.

Getting A Bad Rap

A lot of people are giving this power bank a bad review simply because they don’t understand basic solar battery charging. The power bank is 5 volts and 42 amp hours. To find out how long it takes to charge this battery with the solar panel, you multiply the volts by the amps to find the watts. This battery requires 210 watts of solar power to charge from dead to full. The little solar panel on this battery puts out about 1 watt an hour at best. It will take about 21 days at 10 hours a day of solar charging to charge this power bank. This power bank is NOT designed to be charged with the solar panel by itself. You must keep this power bank fully charged from a USB charger, and use the solar charger to supplement when power isn’t available or as an emergency backup.

I’m an off grid enthusiast so knowing solar charging is a must. When I purchased this for my Marine grandson who wanted a power bank while in the field, I told him the solar panel doesn’t provide enough power to charge the battery efficiently and to charge it from USB the night before. I provided him a small 10 watt folding solar panel to carry in his pack to charge his power bank in the field.

I feel the manufacturer is doing a disservice by advertising this power bank as a solar powered device. The solar panel is there solely to sell the product, not to efficiently charge the device. If you’re going to purchase this power bank, plan on charging with a USB charger or buy a separate folding solar panel and stick it in your backpack.

If you take it fully charged, it will last only one transfer of charge. Useless thereafter for a trek lasting more than three days.
